Lettieri Construction has chosen to come into a full partnership with For Mercy's Sake to build God's kingdom in a literal way. Tom and Debbie Lettieri have developed a fully operational construction arm of For Mercy's Sake, creating a new model of missions based construction projects. Rather than coordinating numerous, expensive trips with various professionals resulting in a disjointed and often disappointing result, Lettieri Construction sends a project manager and several skilled professionals to lay the foundation for, plan, and oversee the project. The project manager returns every six to eight weeks to ensure the job is progressing on schedule and brought to completion by local workers, professionals, and skilled craftsmen. There are two reasons we conduct building projects in this manner. First, it equips people in the lands we are trying to serve with skills that will allow them to provide for their families in the future. Second, it provides a sense of dignity and pride for the nationals involved, knowing this is the building they constructed with help from a ministry in America. Being trained and entrusted infuses the laborers with a sense of accomplishment, ownership, and a responsibility for ongoing stewardship of what has been constructed to be a house of mercy.

Community Center For Mercy's Sake is bringing relief to the children in rural areas of Romania through supporting local grassroots efforts, which includes the building of a community center in the village of Danceau. The center marked the completion of our first building project in November 2009. The community center provides warm classrooms for education and after-school tutoring programs to help keep poor children in school. It gives the villagers the dignity of indoor bathrooms with showers, laundry facilities so the children will have clean clothing to wear to school, and serves as a hub for various activities within the village. The center operates as a center for worship, a central location for food distribution, and is the site for our quarterly medical clinics. Perhaps most importantly, clean water is finally available to the entire village, |
YWAM For Mercy's Sake and Lettieri Construction have partnered with Pastor Mike Jankowski and Lamb's Chapel, a body of believers in Long Island, NY, to construct the University of the Nations Campus for YWAM in Kiev, Ukraine. The purpose of this campus is to train and mobilize 700 students per year to influence every sphere of society with biblical principles and values. Missionaries are better equipped to be leaders in business, the arts, education, government, science, technology, and ministry, while also being taught through relationship-centered discipleship and practical service. The motto of the University of the Nations is "The world is your classroom; the Great Commission your career." Offering courses in over 120 countries in the world and in over 50 languages, YWAM's U of N is truly impacting the world with God's love. |
Joshua House Life Center Jim & Sandy McCann are American missionaries living in L'viv, Ukraine. They founded Joshua House Life Centers to provide children's homes, orphanages, Christian schools, churches, wellness centers, outreaches, and missions in the Ukraine. For Mercy's Sake and Lettieri Construction have partnered with Jim and Sandy to build a new Life Center in the middle of the poorest villages in the Carpathian Mountains of the Turka region. Those living in the most desperate conditions will be ministered to on a regular basis, especially children who have been abandoned, abused, and left destitute. We are targeted to complete a house there by June 2010. Many of those laboring within the ministry in Turka are children who were raised up and adopted within the original Joshua House ministry. The Life Center being constructed now under the Letitieri's direction will be the site of a family-type children's home, housing up to ten children along with houseparents, as well as a children's shelter available to all wandering and seeking help. The property will also have an organic farm and a Christian school to provide quality education where there are few educational opportunities at all. Children will be discipled and equipped to become leaders in their area, bringing change, transformation, and hope to a broken-down community.
